lights go down with a hushed anticipation
the audience fall silent
waiting
for the curtain to rise
waiting
for the performance to start
murmured conversations as time passes
the audience grow restless
fidgeting in their seats
checking their watches
time passes
and as the lights come up
an awkward silence descends

I don’t know the proper poetry term for it, but this is very nicely structured.
